Eastern Polk Regional Development, Inc. is a nonprofit regional economic development organization whose mission is to provide economic development opportunities for eastern Polk County, Iowa. The organization was formed by four Iowa communities which are: Altoona, Bondurant, Mitchellville, Pleasant Hill, all located in Eastern Polk County immediately east and northeast of the City of Des Moines, Iowa. The primary focus of the organization is to attract new businesses to the area and retain and grow existing businesses by promoting Eastern Polk County to prospective businesses, developers, commercial realtors and other organizations and persons associated with economic development activities. The organization coordinates with its member communities and developers on site development, construction of industrial and office parks, and commercial centers. Eastern Polk Regional development also works closely with other local and State organizations such as the Iowa Department of Economic Development and the Greater Des Moines Partnership.
While Eastern Polk County is well known for its recreational and entertainment venues like Adventureland Park and Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, it also has a number of other unique assets that make it attractive to prospective businesses and developers who want to expand, relocate, or start a new business.
